Cashless Catering

The Federation has implemented a cashless catering system.  This system has had a number of benefits, not least in improving the security on our sites and facilitating a more efficient service in the dining halls.

All staff and students are issued with a card which operates within the dining halls and is needed for security access to buildings.  Students need their cards for use in the Learning Resource Centres and to undertake any photocopying. It is essential that all students carry this multi-function card with them at all times.

One of the main areas where students use their cards is in the dining halls and it is worth reiterating the rules on the use of cards that are outlined in the student handbook:-

  • Cards are to be used by the cardholders only
  • Cards must be kept in credit at all times
  • Cards must be carried by all students every day

Funds can be deposited on to the cards at the cash revaluing units located on school sites.  Deposits will also be able to be made via the parent pay secure website in the future.  Cheques may be deposited in the paypoints on our sites.  Payments made by cheque will not be credited to a student’s account until lunchtime the following day.

The card are issued free of charge.  Please note however that any replacement cards will cost £4. The system for replacing cards has also been updated and the procedure for requesting and paying for a replacement card will be quick and efficient.  Students should report immediately to the Main Office on their site if they have misplaced their card.  It is essential that all lost or broken cards are replaced as soon as possible.

This system provides an efficient and secure service for all.  Any queries concerning these arrangements should be directed as appropriate to the College or the Academy.
