Food Safety Policy Statement

The management at Haberdashers’ Aske’s firmly believes in providing the students & staff with a high quality service as well as good, healthy, nutritious and balanced food.

We wholly accept the legal duty to comply with the FOOD SAFETY ACT 1990 & FOOD HYGIENE REGULATIONS 2006.  We understand that food production areas must be maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and food handled to ensure it does not become contaminated during its delivery, storage, preparation, service and distribution.  We will apply the standards in Law recommended by the Environmental Health (sic Dept).

We also have a food safety procedure in place which covers all aspects of food safety.  These cover five main areas:-

  1. PURCHASING
  2. PRODUCT
  3. PREMISES
  4. PERSONNEL
  5. ACTION TO PREVENT ANY RISK

We expect staff to follow these outlined rules of safety.  This is a must and no allowance will be made when it comes to food safety.

Our ethos is good fresh food provided in a safe environment.  This means we take our food safety and hygiene seriously.
