I am very pleased to welcome you to the website for the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation.
The Federation came into being in 2005 when Knights Academy was opened, since then we have grown to the extent that we are now three all-through Academies (from nursery through to sixth form). We have also flourished, having a national reputation for the excellence of the education and opportunities we provide for over 4000 children and young people we serve across the boroughs of Lewisham and Bexley.
Our values are of academic excellence, high standards of uniform and discipline and with strong roots in the community. It is our mission to ensure that all young people educated within the Federation fulfil their potential and leave school fully equipped with the qualifications, skills and personal attributes to be successful in whatever they wish to do. We know that young people only have one chance at an education and so we ensure that this is of the very highest standard. Click here to view the Federation values, aims and ethos.
Central to our approach to ensuring the best life chances for all the children and young people in the Federation is our approach to specialism. Music is excellent across the Federation and is a particular specialism at Hatcham College. Competitive sports are an essential way for young people to keep fit, and also build character. Sport is an integral part of all three academies and is the specialism at Knights Academy. There are few things certain about the future, but surely one of them is that we are increasingly dependent upon technology to be successful in our work and home lives. Information technology is a specialism across the Federation, science and technology are also a particular focus in all the Academies, but at Crayford we are developing particularly innovative approaches to a technological curriculum. These specialisms form the backbone to the extra-curricular life of the Federation, but alongside these activities there is a vast range of enrichment that children and young people can take part in too numerous to mention here.
We are proud to be both part of the Academy programme and the Haberdasher family of schools. Our principal sponsors, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, take a keen interest in the welfare and progress of our students and are extremely generous with their support and expertise. We also benefit from the support of the sponsors of our primary phases, the Temple Grove Trust.
We enjoy welcoming visitors to the Academies. Please contact us if you would like more information. Meanwhile, thank you for your interest and I hope you find our website helpful.
Yours sincerely
