The Technician is responsible for providing technical service to the Academy across all Key Stages, with particular emphasis on the Design & Technology and Science curriculum areas. However, a key aspect of the role is that support will be provided across other areas of the curriculum as required.

The Technician is responsible for providing technical service to the Academy across all Key Stages, with particular emphasis on the Design & Technology and Science curriculum areas. However, a key aspect of the role is that support will be provided across other areas of the curriculum as required.
To carry out preparation work for lessons under the direction of the Assistant Principal or other staff as required
To clear away material and equipment after use and to ensure that specialist teaching areas are well ordered and tidy
To maintain tools, equipment and apparatus as appropriate to the Technician's skills
To assist in the maintenance of stock levels and help with all stock checks
To assist in the development and construction of storage solutions as appropriate
To maintain high standards of safety and security in accordance with Federation policy
To develop expertise in the use of the Federation MIS system, particularly with reference to the ordering of stock and materials
a) Staff
To participate in any staff meetings and/or activities relevant to the Technician's role
To liaise as appropriate with staff regarding the preparation of teaching resources
To work on other Federation campuses as required
