AQA - Y10 (2015 -2017 COURSES)
Examination texts include either Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress or Of Mice and Men, and Animal Farm. Students will also study a selection of poems in preparation for one of their Literature exams.
All exams will be sat at the end of the school year, however, exam practice will take place throughout the school year. Year 10 will begin their studies for the brand new GCSEs; the students will work towards qualifications in both Language and Literature. They will cover the following texts/areas of study on their two year journey, which will be assessed 100% in final exams at the end of the Language and Literature courses (May/June 2017): A play by Shakespeare, a 19th century novel, modern prose/drama, a selection of poetry, literary fiction, literary non fiction and discursive writing.

These documents will help you understand what is being taught and what the examination weightings are.
