Parents and teachers working together to improve Hatcham College
Who are we?
Friends is a group of parents and carers who support the school by running events and raising funds. We are a discussion forum for carers and parents, parent governors and teachers.
Without volunteers, Friends simply would not be able to take place. If you are interested in getting involved contact us at FACS@HAAF.ORG.UK
Events & You
We are very fortunate at Haberdashers Aske's Hatcham College, to have a Parent Teacher association which has been integral to the school community for many years. Friends has raised thousands of pounds for equipment and resources to enhance facilities for children at the school. Recently we have:
- supplied free books for Year 7 through the Buzz Books scheme
- provided table tennis tables for the playgrounds in both the lower and upper sites
- paid for kits for school sports teams
Friends is much more than just fundraising!
Friends exists to provide closer links between home and school. It is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together. It is fun too – just ask any of the parents and carers who have helped out.
All parents and members of the school community can get involved, even if you only have a small amount of time available. As a parent or carer, you are automatically a member of Friends.
Upcoming events are published here, and are featured in the school newsletters which are emailed to you every Friday.
Friends meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every term at the Jerningham Road school library. We invite speakers from the school to discuss areas of common interest including changes to the curriculum, the approach to teaching specific subjects, exam performance and student welfare and discipline. Senior staff and parent governors are always present.
Our Annual General takes place in the Autumn term - all are welcome to come along and find out what we have achieved and about our plans.
Please join us and find out how we can support the college and organise social and fundraising events.

Businesses and your employer can help too!
Does your employer support Community Projects? Do you work in a local business which can offer us donations? We are lucky to receive prizes and promises from local businesses for raffles and auctions. Some well-known banks and companies offer a donation to schools when their employee volunteers in school - which includes helping out at events. We are extremely grateful for all support. If you think you can help too, please let the Friends team know FACS@HAAF.ORG.UK
