A School Journey involves an overnight stay of at least one night and, as for visits, full details of the arrangements for travel, activities involved and cost will be given to parents. Grants are available for help with payment for students who are eligible for free school meals, on application to Hatcham Reception for the senior phase and Miss A Shillingford for the primary phase. In case of emergencies, parents will be contacted by telephone.
Payments will usually be spread over a period, and students will be issued with a card to show the different instalments.
School Journeys may involve travel abroad, for example, languages, Geography field trips, work experience and leisure activities. Parents are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring that their child has the correct documentation for such a trip (e.g. valid passport). Some of these are part of the curriculum and others are for those interested.
The Year 6 and Year 7 School Journey is considered to be part of the curriculum. All Year 6 and Year 7 students will take part in this.
Information about College journeys and trips planned for 2018-2019 will be published in the Hatcham Register and College calendar, and a summary of proposed journeys will be published at the beginning of the academic year. Please note however, that it is possible that further journeys may take place as appropriate.
