What is the subject about?
The BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care is a new KS4 qualification replacing the old-style BTEC Awards. It combines both external exams with internal assessment projects and is an essential qualification for students who are interested in working in a health-related sector or in social care.
Students will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable skills on the course which are valued by employers, colleges and sixth forms. Topics studied include Human Lifespan Development and Health and Social Care Services, exploring issues such as rights and responsibilities and effective communication skills.
